Rosemary Dugan of Syracuse, NY passed away on December 13, 2016. She was a well-loved teacher in the Syracuse City School District for 46 years and traveled throughout the world. She received her initial teacher training from Syracuse Normal School and then went on to complete a B.S. from Syracuse University and a Masters degree from Cortland State College.
Rosemary was predeceased by her parents Thomas J. and Frances, and her brother Robert Dugan. Her father, a Captain on the Syracuse Fire Department was tragically killed in the Collins Block fire in February, 1939. Rosemary never missed attending the annual remembrance service for those killed in the line of duty at Firemen's Memorial Park for the past 77 years.
Rosemary is survived by her cousins Terry, Dennis and Suzanne Loftus, Holly Kinsella, Christine Kenah, John and Patrick McCarthy as well as by her dear friends the Conover Family.
Rosemary was a lifelong communicant of St. Patrick's Church, where her funeral will be held on Monday, December 19, 2016. Calling hours at the church will be from 9am -10am prior to the funeral service at 10am. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Patrick's church, 216 N. Lowell Ave. Syracuse, NY 13204.
